After the Auction

Hammer Price

The item is deemed sold upon the fall of the hammer: at that moment, the buyer assumes full responsibility for the lot. In addition to the hammer price, the buyer must add the auction premium of 27% including VAT as per current legislation (30% on Drouot, 32% on Invaluable).

Payment for Lots

The hammer price is subject to a 27% buyer’s premium, including VAT as per current legislation. Payment for the awarded items must be made immediately after the auction closes, via:
· Cash up to €4,999.00
· Credit or debit card (Mastercard, Visa, and Amex)
· Check or bank draft (subject to prior verification with the issuing institution) made out to: Bolli&Romiti srl
· Bank transfer – with the reason for payment indicating
the lot number(s) – to: Banca Sella S.p.A.
IBAN: IT80C0326803200052874385750
BIC: SELBIT2BXXX
For payment by check, please note that delivery of the items will be made after the payment has cleared. Bolli&Romiti may, by agreement with the seller, offer reliable buyers the option of paying for purchased goods in instalments. Delivery will not be made until the full amount has been received. Potential buyers wishing to use this payment method must contact management in advance.

Collection of Lots

Purchased items must be collected within seven (7) working days, upon presentation of a valid identity document by the buyer.
If a third party is collecting on behalf of the buyer, they must present a written authorization signed by the buyer, along with a copy of the buyer’s ID.

Upon explicit request, Bolli&Romiti staff may assist with packing and shipping of the purchased lots, at the buyer’s expense and risk. The buyer must release Bolli&Romiti from all liability in this regard.

After ten (10) working days, Bolli&Romiti will no longer be responsible for the safekeeping of the purchased items or for any deterioration or damage. The items will be held at the buyer’s risk and responsibility, and storage fees will be charged as follows (VAT excluded):

  • Furniture and sculptures: €15.00 per day + VAT

  • Paintings: €10.00 per day + VAT

  • Objects: €5.00 per day + VAT

At the management’s discretion, the items may be transferred—upon prior notice to the buyer—to the Itaca Transport warehouse, located at Via Leonardo da Vinci 1, Monterotondo, 00015, which will apply the same storage fees plus transport costs.
These rates are posted and available for consultation at Bolli&Romiti’s premises.

Shipment of Lots

Upon request, shipping quotes can be provided by national and international logistics companies specializing in the transport of artworks, selected according to specific requirements in terms of timing, method, and cost.
Shipping will be carried out at the buyer’s risk and expense, and the buyer must release the auction house in writing from any liability.
Our staff is also available to provide guidance and recommendations on all shipping and insurance options for the lots.
For any needs, the shipping department is available Monday to Friday, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

Export of Purchased Lots

Legislative Decree no. 42 of January 22, 2004 regulates the export of Cultural Property outside the territory of the Italian Republic.
EEC Regulation no. 3911/92 of December 9, 1992, as amended by EEC Regulation no. 2469/96 of December 16, 1996, and EEC Regulation no. 974/01 of May 14, 2001, regulates the export of Cultural Property outside the European Union.

To export Cultural Property over 50 years old from Italy, an Export License is required, which the buyer must obtain personally.
The auction house is not responsible for such permits and cannot guarantee their issuance. Upon request, the auction house may handle the application process for the export licenses; related costs are borne by the buyer.
Failure to obtain these authorizations does not justify the cancellation of the purchase or non-payment.

According to Article 8, paragraph 1, letter B of Presidential Decree 633/72, buyers wishing to export the item outside the EU and obtain a VAT refund must comply with the following procedures:

  • Complete customs procedures and export the item outside EU territory within 3 months from the invoice date

  • Submit the original customs declaration or an equivalent document within the same 3-month period, directly to the auction house

The 3-month deadline, starting from the invoice date, may be suspended for the time required to obtain the export certificate.
